Haydn Jones is an expert witness specialising in digital assets, blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, financial crime, and regulatory compliance, with a career spanning financial services, technology, and international advisory roles at the highest levels.
Currently Managing Director of BlockchainHub, a dedicated expert witness consultancy, Haydn brings deep practical expertise to civil and criminal proceedings, having produced expert reports and affidavits in matters involving fraud, money laundering, KYC, tax issues, and market conditions, across jurisdictions including the UK, the DIFC Courts (Dubai), Singapore, the United States, New Zealand, Spain and Poland.
His most prominent engagement was the expert report in R v Yadi Zhang — the UK’s largest ever money laundering case, involving 60,000 bitcoin worth $6 billion — as well as a $230 million fraud matter in the DIFC Courts, a $1 billion digital asset disbursement following a cryptocurrency exchange breach, and expert reports for sovereign funds, national regulators, and global crypto exchanges.
Prior to founding BlockchainHub, Haydn served as Managing Director and Global Lead for Digital Assets at Kroll, where he led the firm’s crypto and blockchain risk advisory practice, and before that spent 3 years as a Director at PwC, working across Audit, Tax, Regulatory, and Consulting practices with a specific focus on blockchain.
His earlier career included senior roles at the Bank of England, Fujitsu, Deutsche Bank, SBC Warburg, A.T. Kearney, and the Ministry of Defence, giving him an exceptionally broad understanding of regulated financial systems, technology infrastructure, and institutional risk.
Haydn has contributed to government bodies including VARA (UAE), CIMA, the FCA, HM Treasury and the Bank of England.
Haydn is a published author of the Executive Guide to Blockchain and frequent industry speaker, having co-authored Kroll’s 2023 Fraud Report, as well as advising clients including De La Rue, Alvarez & Marsal, Rothschild, and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority.
