Expert Witness Snapshot
Tony is a Chartered Builder with extensive practical and site-based knowledge. Prior to specialising as a delay expert, he accumulated nine years of practical experience as a site-based construction manager, followed by a further nine years experience as a site-based planner with major UK contractors. During this period, he was involved in the preparation of extension of time claims and in reviewing, analysing and defending subcontractor related extension of time claims. Additionally, he spent two years as an office-based tender planner for a major UK contractor based in London. This diverse experience has been invaluable in assessing and understanding the extent and causes of delay to construction projects.
His career in delay analysis advanced further after leaving the contracting industry to join the consultancy Ove Arup & Partners in their programming and project management department, where commissions were often international. During his tenure at Arup, he was introduced to and assisted senior analysists in matters of delay.
Subsequently, Tony joined a small consultancy specialising in all planning disciplines, including pre-construction advice, consultancy, site monitoring and delay analysis. During this period, he became an RICS accredited expert and gained his initial expert appointments.
He later joined Avalon Dispute Resolution Services where he continues to be appointed as a delay analyst and expert witness in disputes involving delay both in litigation and adjudication.
