As part of our November programme in Hong Kong The Academy of Experts is holding a joint member meeting with SCL HK on Thursday 20th November at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre in Central.

Speakers will include:

  • Lucinda McPhee – King & Wood Mallesons
  • Nicola Cohen – Chief Executive, TAE

The meeting will be an opportunity to catch up on the latest developments in the world of the Expert Witness.

Attendees are invited to stay for refreshments and opportunity to catch up with the TAE team and other members after the meeting.

Nicola Cohen

Nicola has 35 years’ experience working in dispute resolution. In her role as Chief Executive of The Academy of Experts she oversees the application of TAE’s standards, the provision of day-to-day practical advice given to a wide range of experts and lawyers and represents TAE on a number of working parties including liaising with the Ministry of Justice in the UK.

She is actively engaged in the establishment of Best Practice and the setting of standards for experts and regularly liaises with the Ministry of Justice and other organisations, both in the UK and internationally.

Nicola is Past President and Chairman of EuroExpert, and is currently the Immediate Past Master of The Worshipful Company of Arbitrators.

Lucinda McPheeLucinda McPhee

Lucinda is a Counsel in the Hong Kong office of King and Wood Mallesons. She is a construction litigation lawyer who is qualified to practice in both Australia and Hong Kong, and she has over 15 years of experience working for high-performing disputes teams in both Australia and Hong Kong.

Lucinda has a deep understanding of the legal and practical aspects of commercial disputes, and a wealth of experience managing complex high-value disputes for construction industry participants in a wide range of forums including contractual dispute resolution processes, dispute resolution boards, mediation, arbitration, litigation, prosecution, and regulatory processes, in both Australia and Hong Kong.

 

Philip NormanPhilip Norman

Philip Norman is a partner in the CMS Infrastructure, Construction and Energy Team. For nearly 30 years Philip has focused on international dispute resolution, with a specialism in international arbitration and project support in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He has represented clients from over 35 countries in over 100 disputes in international commercial arbitration, adjudication (FIDIC DAAB), mediation, expert determination, and in negotiations.

Philip was previously based in the Middle East for over a decade, from where he also undertook Africa work. Now based in London, Philip continues his international work.

Philip has been ranked tier 1 in Chambers and Partners, is recommended by the Legal 500 and is identified as a leading expert by Who’s Who Legal.
