An update on the events of the previous year as they affect the Expert Witness and Alternative Dispute Resolution worlds – “That was the year that was”.

Presented annually by Michael Cohen this seminar usually precedes the Chairman’s Lunch. With the lunch not going ahead due to the pandemic we have taken the Seminar online and hope to see a healthy turnout from members and guests.

Michael Cohen

Michael Cohen is deeply involved in the world of Dispute Resolution and of Discipline. He is Director of The ADR Centre London, a Qualified Mediator, Chartered Arbitrator as well as an Expert in Insurance and on matters pertaining to Experts.

Whilst Chairman of The Academy of Experts he was responsible for the establishment of professional standards and training of Experts and Dispute Resolvers around the world. He has been involved in various reforms effecting Experts in different jurisdictions and is Past President of EuroExpert (The Organisation of European Expert Associations).

He is Course Director for Academy Training and a regular course tutor. He is Editor of ‘The Expert & Dispute Resolver’.

Report for Cross-Examination

You will be cross-examined by a barrister during the day and should supply us with the following as soon as possible if you have not already done so - this must be received no later than 10 days prior to the course.

• A copy of a short report which you have written. This need not be factual but should contain enough detail for you to be cross-examined.
• A one page synopsis of points for attack on your report in cross-examination.
• If the report was exchanged a copy of the opposing Expert’s report if available.
• The case, which you choose to submit, should no longer be active as we are not allowed to rehearse for court.
• If you are not able to supply a report a case study can be provided. This must, however, be by prior arrangement as you will need to study the report in advance of the course.
