Expert Witness Snapshot
I am a qualified Chartered Quantity Surveyor specialised in providing forensic delay and disruption analysis for complex construction projects. Having over fifteen years’ experience in the role of an expert, my work is primarily devoted to dispute avoidance and resolution in matters of delay.
My professional career is based on a foundation of ‘first principles’ initially gained from working as a consultant for Sub-Contractors, Main Contractors and Employers, and latterly as an expert advisor/witness in matters of delay and disruption. Throughout my career I have gained extensive and rounded experience from working in all major sectors of the construction industry ranging from commercial, HM Prisons, hospitals, civil engineering, energy, oil and gas, residential, to transport and infrastructure.
I am a Director of Pyments Limited which is a firm of Chartered Quantity Surveyors, Programme Analysts, Dispute Resolution Consultants and Expert Witnesses, whose primary service is the administration of construction contracts, together with expert witness services on quantum, and delay and disruption.
Experienced in the analysis of construction delays and methodologies (from both a forensic retrospective and prospective approach), I have been instructed by solicitors, Contractors and Employers in the capacity of a expert for matters concerning delay and disruption, having given expert witness evidence/testimony in the High Court (TCC), and adjudication hearings, where I have provided expert opinion on matters concerning delay and disruption.
