Expert Witness Snapshot
A dual-qualified Chartered Civil Engineer with a degree in Law, accredited expert witness and Managing Director within the FTI Construction, Projects and Assets team based in London, specialising in the forensic analysis of delay in construction projects and entitlement to extensions of time.Over 16 years’ experience working in the construction industry and has participated in the management and delivery of some of the largest and most complex commercial, residential and civil engineering projects both in the UK and overseas, having worked for a top-tier UK main-contractor and leading global consultancy practice.
Has been instructed as independent delay expert in litigation and adjudication proceedings, for loss adjusters in insurance claims and as the lead-assistant in international arbitration proceedings.
Experience of disputes across a broad-spectrum of sectors including infrastructure, energy, commercial and residential projects under traditional, D&B, EPC / ‘turnkey’ and CM procurement options and is familiar with most standard-form contracts including NEC, JCT and FIDIC as well as bespoke agreements.
His industry experience allows him to distil complex problems into key issues. He takes great pride in the veracity and factual detail of his delay analysis and precise, yet succinct, expert reports.
A proponent of technological and data analytics initiatives in the analysis of construction project delays. This increases the capacity to assess large amounts of data and in-turn provides a broader and more robust investigation as the basis for expert opinion.
Competent in the use of all planning software packages (e.g. Primavera P6, Powerproject and Microsoft Project) and experienced in the use of all the industry recognised delay analysis techniques.
