Career
Over 50 years' experience in the UK and Overseas, principally in maritime works, breakwaters, coastal, harbours, ports; planning, engineering design and construction. Includes sediment transport, dredging/reclamation, rock supply, concrete, project planning, environmental impacts, risk assessment, management etc.
Experience also includes river engineering, geology, slope stability, groundwater and dam design & construction. Management experience includes multi- disciplinary projects and as Eurotunnel's Chief Engineer (Marine).
1968 - 1974 Engineer, harbour, coastal, dam and tip stability.
1973 - 1974 Delft University.
1974 - 1980 Project manager of maritime design and construction projects, including nuclear Power Station intake. Principal Expert Witness.
1980 - 1986 Site and the design office in the Middle East for port development, coastal projects and dams.
1986 - 1989 Eurotunnel's Chief Engineer (Marine).
1989 - 2002 Chief Engineer/Director for harbour, coastal and river engineering projects, including risk assessment. Advisor, Oresund Link Continued to act as an Expert, Mediator and Adjudicator.
2002 Started my own Company. Consultant to a variety of Clients, advisor to projects in UK and Overseas and for disputes. Mediator with a number of Groups.
Official Positions
Held Member of a number of BSI, PIANC, CIRIA and ICE Committees Former Deputy Chairman Academy of Experts TCC Users Group. Other Activities Lecturer on technical subjects, ADR and Expert Witness requirements Published some 50 papers.
