Founding Owner / Managing Director, of a jewellery service company Safeguard, it became the largest jewellery valuation company in UK, with offices in both London and New York. When I sold it in 2004 its customers included all major UK multiple retailers, and in the US, customers included Tiffany, Stirling, and Avon.
Successfully launched as additional part of the company a Diamond Grading Laboratory in UK in 2000, by 2005 it had become largest Diamond grading and Gem testing Laboratory in the UK.
Initially as consultant and then a 1 year temporary contract as part time Managing Director of jewellery design Company set up for The Signet group PLC. The company was set up to service the groupsÚ 600+ retail stores, with a unique jewellery design and manufacturing service. The company generated a turnover of over £1.8 million in the first trading year.

Employment History
1977-1979 Graduate Management trainee with the Zales Corporation
1979-1981 Geoffrey Richard Group retail shop manager County Jewellers Cardiff, doubled annual turnover in first 18 months.
1981-1983 Area manager Herbert Wolf Group retail group 25 shops devised and oversaw development and growth project that increased net profits by 26% over a two year period.
1983-1987 General Manager group of Retail Jewellers group of 5 county jewellers ÚThe Eustance GroupÚ responsible to a non executive board of directors for all aspects of business management and performance. When I joined group it was having financial difficulties within three years completely turned operation around and then finally as requested by directors sold group as successful going concern to Goldsmiths group PLC.
1987-1989 General Manager jewellery manufacturers included relocating whole operation. The Operation was taken from administration to profit in two years.
1990-2005 PJS Ltd (latterly Safeguard) Director, Valuer, and Company consultant. Opened and ran USA subsidiary. Opened and successfully ran diamond grading laboratory Anchorcert profitably became largest in UK within three years of launch.
1986 -to 2008 Non Executive director for retail jewellery company. Family owned county jewellers. Oversight of budgeting and performance, advise on marketing and merchandising. I have increased the turnover of the company over ten fold since my involvement.
