Richard Formby is a Chartered Accountant and Director of Formby Forensics. He has over 25 years experience in forensic accounting, advising on loss quantum and in acting as an accountancy expert witness.

Richard trained with a major UK national chartered accountancy practice. He then specialised in corporate finance, forensic accounting and financial investigations with what is now Deloitte.

Richard joined a large South West accountancy firm to provide a dedicated forensic accounting and litigation support service to the litigation and insurance industry and headed that service for over 20 years before forming his own boutique forensic accountancy business in 2017 - Formby Forensics.

Richard has acted as expert witness or expert adviser, in a wide variety of litigation and dispute matters totalling in excess of 750 cases. These range from typical personal injury and dependency claims involving the employed and self-employed to commercial consequential loss, professional negligence and business interruption claims. Richard is experienced in acting as a Part or Single Joint Expert Witness.

Richard has given evidence in the High Court, Mercantile Court, County Court and Crown Court. As well as giving evidence in the \'traditional\' format - Richard has experience of giving \"concurrent expert evidence\" (or via expert \"Hot Tubbing\").
