Philip has thirty-six years of experience in the construction industry, with twenty-two years as a Chartered Architect. Philip’s construction industry experience began working within a specific Carpentry/Joinery trade background.

Philip has been instructed in 150+ Expert appointments, including a mixture of a Single Joint Expert and Joint Expert. Philip is an Accredited Expert Witness with the RIBA, the Academy of Experts, the Expert Witness Institute, and the Bond Solon Register of Experts. In 2015, Philip was appointed to the RIBA UK Register of Experts, with only thirteen Experts accredited by the RIBA. Philip also accepts Expert Determination appointments.

Philip’s thirst for knowledge and wanting to better himself led him to read an MSc in Construction Law and Arbitration. Combining Philip’s professional standing as a Chartered Architect and experience as a Carpenter and Joiner provides a comprehensive breadth of knowledge and experience. Philip’s expertise ranges from early decisions made at the project\'s design stages to detailing/construction drawings and specification of products to construction operations on-site, snagging and handover. This experience gives Philip a \'four-pronged interface’ in the broad and varied fields of design, procurement, contract administration, and construction operations.

Philip has won awards for his architecture and contract administration: -

     RICS Northwest Property Awards. The design of a Residential Extra Care Development, Heath View, Congleton.

   Northwest Local Authority Building Control, Best Social Housing Development for a mixed-use Homeless Refuge Residential Building and Adjacent Social   Housing Residential Development, Sherdley House, St Helens.

     Local Authority Built-in Quality Awards for Best Architect/Agent for Architecture and Contract Management for a Social Housing Development, Crewe.

Philip has accepted instructions from Solicitors, Direct Access Counsel and Litigants in Person. These instructions covered a range of claims and defences for Insurers, Building Warranty Providers, National and International Businesses/Corporations, Social Housing Providers, and Private Clients. The forums that Philip has been involved in range from meetings of Experts to attending and participating in Mediations and giving Expert opinions in Adjudication, Arbitration and Litigation.

Philip formed Philip Morris Consulting Limited in 2018. The company is based in Cheshire, and Philip can accept instructions from England, Wales, Scotland, the Channel Islands, and worldwide.
