    [Brief_CV] => Peter Caillard is a Chartered Civil Engineer with nearly 40 years of experience in the design and project management of transport and infrastructure projects throughout the UK and overseas.  His career has covered major highways, railways, airports, transportation planning, public utilities, and development projects using a variety of forms of contract.  He has project managed the design of major transport schemes both in the UK and Europe and has developed projects through all stages from preliminary design to final account.

Peter has also undertaken work with private sector developers, including masterplanning, access design, parking studies, road geometric design, pavement design and drainage design.  In addition, he has completed research projects for the Highways Agency, and prepared drafts for new technical design standards.

Currently, Peter is primarily involved in the provision of expert witness and advisory services in highways and civil engineering.  He has attended and given evidence at arbitrations and dispute hearings (including concurrent evidence (hot-tubbing)).  He has prepared accident investigation reports for litigation and appeared as an expert witness at planning appeals.  Peter gave evidence to the House of Commons Select Committee during the passage of the enabling legislation for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link.
