Practising occupational psychologist. Specialist in evaluating and developing the employment prospects of disabled people, including assessment of vocational rehabilitation needs, re-training potential and loss of earnings. Has an in-depth knowledge of the impact of disability on work opportunities and pay, and has a particular interest in neurodiversity and its management in the workplace. Has given expert evidence in loss of earnings litigation since 1993. Works throughout the UK .
Trained in the legal aspects of report writing, giving evidence in Court and in the responsibilities of a Single Joint Expert. Is experienced in giving evidence in Court and in Employment Tribunals.
Over the past three years the balance of instructions has been 45% Claimant, 45% Defendant and 10% Joint.
Is a partner in Doherty Stobbs, a firm that provides services to individuals and organisations to enhance and maintain performance and well-being in the work place. Also works as a Psychologist Assessor for the Cabinet Office, and provides career development services to senior managers for a range of commercial organisations.
In the early 1990s was the head occupational psychologist at the Hobbs Unit (part of Wiltshire Social Services), a vocational assessment and rehabilitation service for individuals with disabilities. Work encompassed careers guidance, work preparation and job retention services to employers.
Between 1986 and 1991 worked as a research psychologist for the Ministry of Defence where he specialized in the assessment of human performance under stress and computer-based training methods.
In the mid 1980\'s, worked as a recruitment consultant in the Midlands, specialising in IT recruitment.
