[Brief_CV] => I am a Chartered Engineering Consultant and published author with a wide experience of electrical installation design, project and safety management in a variety of sectors.
I am experienced in civil and criminal (safety-related) cases as well as insurance claims and have acted as a single joint expert and have experience of joint expert meetings with the HSE. I hold the Cardiff University Bond Solon Criminal Expert Witness Certificate and am a Member of the Academy of Experts.
As a director of a busy engineering consultancy providing design, project management and policy/compliance advice, my reports and opinions reflect current technology and working practice.
I am member or Chairman of a range of electrotechnical British and International standards committees and hence very knowledgeable in state-of-the-art and I lead on various aspects of electrical design, especially with temporary energy systems, representing the UK internationally in this area.
Through this work I am also well versed in related guidance and legislation and develop industry guidance in support of the relevant standards for trade associations and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). I have also developed and deliver industry training and qualifications as well as industry competency standards.
I am an author of authoritative electrical design, safety and control publications and a regular contributor to the industry press with over 200 articles published on an array of electrical, AV and control engineering topics. I have four books in print, three of which are published by the Institution of Engineering and Technology with a fifth in progress.
I have 30+ years of experience working in a range of sectors consisting of private SMEs and multinationals from retail to film as well as public bodies including the BBC, Unions, the HSE, local authorities, Fire Services and more.
