James has extensive experience investigating fires in domestic and commercial properties; lightweight and commercial vehicles; machinery and agricultural and construction plant. Including fires in vehicles with Hybrid or electrical drive systems.

James has experience of identifying fires caused by electrical faults in distribution equipment, photovoltaic installations and appliances.

James has experience of investigating fires involving commercial kitchen ductwork systems; and is qualified as a Kitchen Extract Cleaning Operator, applying the B&ES System TR19 standard.

In January 2019 James was elected on to the Board of Directors within the UK Association of Fire Investigators and now contributes to the management and running of the association.
