[Brief_CV] => I have vast experience in dealing with this Invasive Non-Native Species. I attended the Property Care Association surveyor training course after many years of treating/surveying Japanese Knotweed. The Certified Surveyor of Japanese Knotweed training course is taught by leading industry experts. The rigorous examination process included written papers, oral questions with answers and a plant identification module. On passing the exams, I am now permitted to use the designation CSJK (Certified Surveyor of Japanese Knotweed) after my name. Since completing the course in 2017, I attend regular industry relevant continuing professional development webinars, complete further reading and attend the PCA’s annual Invasive Weed Group Conference alongside working in the industry.

I am also a member of the Property Care Association, Invasive Weed Control Group, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Association of Building Engineers and the Academy of Experts which keep members up to date with legislation and changes in my field of expertise.

During my career I have visited hundreds of sites infested with Japanese Knotweed, both on a large-scale commercia basis and smaller residential gardens. I often consult for professionals such as Solicitors, Surveyors, Ecologists, Conveyancers and Planning Consultants. My advice has been trusted by Local Authorities as well as many large blue chip developers, pension funds and smaller SME’s such as housing estate developers, property developers and environmental consultancy firms.

Whilst being committed to keeping up to date with the latest research into Japanese Knotweed, I am able to take a practical approach to my field of expertise by working in the industry daily. It is important to remember that Japanese Knotweed is a living organism, theory does not always account for the conditions that are present on individual sites. I pride myself on taking a site-specific approach and my knowledge of the invasive sector and built environment work hand in hand to provide rational reasoning whilst aiming to keep the language simple and easy to understand for everybody.
