Forensic accountancy experience

I have specialised in Forensic Accountancy/Litigation work for 31years and have acted as an expert witness on hundreds of occasions. I have given evidence on the substance of my reports.  I act for both Claimants and Defendants.  I am instructed as an advisor, party expert, single joint expert or shadow expert.

I have been instructed in numerous commercial matters involving shareholder disputes, contractual disputes, loss of profit claims and by the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales to value shareholdings and to determine other disputes.

My personal injury/fatal accident experience is extensive and varied. Losses considered by my reports include earnings, profits, benefits (including stock options) and pensions. I have lectured on the subject of personal injury quantum to legal professionals and insurance companies and my articles have been published by APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) and PMILL (Personal and Medical Injuries Law Letter).

I trained at Arthur Andersen and in 1991 moved to Frenkel Topping, Chartered Accountants. I became a Partner at Frenkel Topping in 1997 and left in 1998 to head up Levy Gee's Northwest Forensic Accountancy/Litigation Support Department. I was a partner in Levy Gee until Levy Gee was taken over by Numerica Group Plc in October 2001. I was a director of Numerica Forensic Accounting and Dispute Resolution Limited until October 2004 when I set up a new partnership, FAS Partnership. I am now a director of GMR Limited, a partner of FAS.

  • Assessing loss of profits following destruction of a legal office.
