[Brief_CV] => Al Brown is chartered engineer, with thirty seven years of international experience in fire safety engineering and fire risk engineering in UK, North America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific.
He has been instructed as an expert witness on more than 50 occasions including adjudication and international arbitration (Hong Kong). He has given evidence and been cross examined in hearings in the Sheriff Court, adjudication and the first tier property tribunal.
Many of his recent instructions relate to external wall and cladding system matters including fitness for habitation claims. In addition he has been instructed to consider issues including: fire doors , passive fire protection (fire stopping, cavity barriers, fire barriers), automatic sprinkler systems (design and installation defects and accidental activation), fire pump systems and fire detection systems (design and activation).
In addition, Al has over 30 years of specialist experience of investigating process equipment fires including semiconductor and cleanroom fires.
His risk assemment and fire engineering experience includes, hospitals, hotels, offices, data centres, and industrial facilities including cleanrooms, food production, pulp and paper manufacturing, and rubber.
