Colin has worked as commercial litigation solicitor for 40 years. He served as the senior partner of Simmons & Simmons between August 2011 and July 2021. He is now mostly retired, albeit he is Chairman of the City of London Law Society and a Deputy District Judge.
Colin is also an expert on legal professional privilege, on which he lectures extensively. He is the author of Passmore on Privilege the 5th edition of which will be published in October 2024. This is one of the leading textbooks on the subject
