This is an online event organised by CIArb’s East Anglia branch, an annual event delivered by John Riches FCIArb, providing an update on the law of adjudication.

John Riches FCIArb is a Fellow of the CIArb, RICS, CInstCES and CIOB and is the principal of Henry Cooper Consultants Ltd. He is a well known arbitrator, adjudicator, mediator, expert determiner and expert witness with UK and overseas experience. He is on all the major construction adjudication panels. Additionally he is a Joint Contracts Tribunal Board Director, Member of Council and Vice Chairman of the Drafting Committee. He has carried out in excess of 230 adjudications in the UK. He is co-author with Chris Dancaster of Construction Adjudication – A Practical Guide published by Wiley, 2nd Edition, April 2004 with the 3rd edition being in preparation.

John will give his annual update on the law of adjudication. He will discuss any key legal developments in respect of the Construction Act and adjudication drawing on any recent cases in the Technology and Construction Court and his own experience acting as adjudicator and party representative. He will provide an insight into the problems faced by adjudicators and citing some interesting related cases.

The talk will appeal to experienced adjudicators and beginners in this form of dispute resolution and other stakeholders now and in the future.
