Degree in Mathematics (University of Cambridge) and Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, Member of The Academy of Experts. Qualified by examination for the Financial Planning Certificate (all parts).
Worked in the life assurance industry for nearly thirty years in finance, marketing, underwriting and claims, policy administrtion and general management. This experience gained in three different groups of companies and four different countries and included life assurance, pensions and disability products and included being Appointed Actuary for three life assurance companies over a period of nine years.
Part time university lecturer in acturial science for seven years.
Since 1987 has been a consultant in the financial services industry, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, strategic studies and financial projections, financial aspects of distribution and sales forces, and Financial Services and Markets Act regulation.
Over twenty years of experience in actuarial and financial services regulation work in support of litigation and dispute resolution, preparing in excess of one hundred reports, and assisting at pre-trial conferences and giving evidence in court/tribunal on six occasions for OAC (and several occasions previously).
