Since 25th April 2017, it has not been possible to lodge Applications or Claim Forms in person at the Rolls Building. Instead, all filing and issuing must be done electronically using CE-File.
This functionality was initially piloted within the TCC over the summer of 2015, and the pilot has now been extended to all of the jurisdictions of the Rolls Building. Combined, the new electronic case management and filing systems places the Rolls Building in the forefront of modern technology around the world, consistent with the high standard and international reputation of London as a business dispute resolution centre.
The Court have provided public access terminals and scanners which can be used to file documents. However, as these terminals are primarily for litigants in person, legal professionals have been encouraged to use CE-File from their own computers to avoid queues in the Court building.
