Registration from 2 pm
Workshop 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm
This workshop will focus on the use of standard form contracts in Hong Kong, both from a legal and practical perspective. The Hong Kong Government’s support of NEC is widespread, and we are seeing FIDIC being commonly used as the starting point for contracts on the Belt and Road. But what does this actually mean in practice for the delivery of these projects. Are parties staying true to the contracts’ objectives? These matters and more will be addressed during the workshop.
Sir Vivian’s presentation will be followed by an interactive panel session with presentations from Hong Kong practitioners about the practical application of these contracts in Hong Kong.
The panel will include Francis Leung, Principal Assistant Secretary of the Development Bureau, Alfred Leung of Continental Engineering Corporation and Bob Andrews of Advisian.
